During Q3 & Q4 of 2021 Energy 101 had the fantastic opportunity to support one of the UK’s market-leading EPC contractors, Smith Brothers Contracting. The scope of works in this location involved bringing to completion the creation of a new 20MW Gas Peaking Facility. The scheme itself comprised fourteen-in-number 1.5MW Jenbacher generators, private & DNO distribution switchgear facilities and associated other works.  

One of the primary obstacles faced in the delivery of this scheme related to the challenging ground conditions and the inherent issues this brought regards emplacement of a suitable earthing system for the facility to connect with the wider, local earth nest.
