Between Q2 & Q4 of 2022 Energy 101 were once again engaged to work in collaboration with one of the UK’s market-leading EPC contractors, Smith Brothers
Contracting. The scope of works in this location involved the creation of a new 33kV-connected 50MW Large-Scale Battery Energy Storage Scheme [BESS]. The scheme itself comprised 28-in-number 2MW BYD battery containers, associated PCS units & 400/33kV step-up transformers, private & DNO distribution switchgear facilities and associated other works.
Taking the site on from its genesis, Energy 101 were responsible for the management and delivery of a multi-disciplinary scope of works. At the outset, these works included initial site clearance and grading, large-scale civil works to create asset foundations, bunding, access routes & roadways and the creation of sub-level cable duct routes. Upon completion of these initial stages Energy 101 were then responsible for the management of asset delivery & emplacement and all cabling, connectivity aspects.
The effective management of stakeholders from both and internal and external perspective was a key component to successful delivery on this scheme.
